Matchbox Lesney Lincoln Continental Superfast Custom

For this custom, I decided to make a "one-of-none", something that was never made from the factory (to the best of my knowledge), but easily could have been. There were several variations of the #31 Lincoln made, the light teal color, metallic gold, and the darker blue all were made in the regular wheel line, though the gold is quite rare. As far as the Superfasts go, they were only made in gold and the light teal. The teal Superfast is pretty much made from unobtamium, but the gold is pretty common. So I found  a beater gold one on ebay and swapped chassis with a darker blue one from my collection. I think it turned out pretty nice! I've got a nice collection of Lincolns now.

Matchbox Porsche 928 Restoration

The big grand tourer from Porsche has always held a special place in my heart. Intended to replace the great 911, it has spent most of its life not getting the respect it deserves. Same goes for the 914, 924, 944, etc. But those tides seem to be changing finally, and I'm glad for it! I came across this beat looking model on ebay and had to have it.

Nothing too drastic, just a paint job and a wheel swap. I think it came out looking superb! I had toyed with the idea of adding modern wheels, but the old Matchbox 8 dots somewhat closely replicate the original "phone dials" these cars came with, so that was the winner!

And hanging out with some friends from the collection.

Matchbox Cadillac CTS Wagon Custom

It's been a little while since I've been at the workbench! Been having too much fun working on my 1:1 scale toy.
But this Cadillac is a great casting, and I've been meaning to customize one for a while now! I went for the murdered-out look, and was cautious with the chrome. I think it came out looking pretty sweet.

Lesney #16c - Scammell Snowplow

Here's an old Lesney slowplow that was missing its plow! I decided to just go with it, and not try to replace the plow. Other than the weird splotches that turned up on the bed, I'm happy with it. Might try to go back and spray some metallic silver on the bed or something, I wonder why that happened.
