Modern Classic: Ford Escort RS Cosworth

As a proud lover of British Fords, and a 90s kid, the RS Cosworth has always been a dream car of mine. That ridiculous wing and the mean looks have always spoken to me. This is a childhood toy of time, much loved as you can tell. I recently acquired a mint condition one, so I thought it was time to give this old toy a little love. It's sitting in the paint stripper right now, so I might get it done tonight, depending on how long the paint takes to dry.. Stay tuned!

Project Wrap Up: Lesney #55d Mercury Police Car

Well, this one isn't my best work, but it'll display well. I'm probably just being too OCD anyways. I think the sticker on the hood is crooked LOL. Anyways, this car was pretty far gone and I'm glad to give it a new lease on life!

I painted the hubs black for two reasons. One, I thought it looked better that way, and two, I wasn't sure how to go about re-chroming the plastic hubs! Any tips would be much appreciated.

And after..

Quick Project: Revell 1996 Chevy Impala SS Rat Rod

Another one pulled from the depths of the forgotten projects box. This one is a little different from my usual style and taste, but who cares. I like it. I had these wheels laying around from a botched Jada project, and thought they would suit this car well. I think they do!

Quick Project: Hot Wheels 1964 Chevy Impala SS

I went through a huge box of Hot Wheels parts I've had for years last night and found all sorts of interesting stuff. Lots and lots of unfinished projects in there. I'll be going through it and try to finish some of them. This is the first one up. From the Pin Headz series of several years ago. It had stupid lowrider tampos but I removed those and left the lovely bronze color. It had a gold base, but I swapped it with a chrome one, did some detail painting and BAM! Done.

Project: Chevy Silverado and Car Trailer

This was just a quick little custom. Well, "custom" is a big word for this car, as I didn't do much to it at all. I got this car trailer off the internet not long ago, and and obviously, it needs to be pulled by something! It's hard to find trailer hitches on new models, but I dug this Silverado out of my collection and thought it would do the job quite well. It started life as a simple 1999 Chevy Silverado, in the form of a dairy delivery truck. I've had this one since I was a kid.

All I did to "customize" it was to remove the dairy tampos and add in a little detail painting. There are a few little nicks and scrapes, but I left them, I think it suits the character of the model. An old work truck should have some scrapes. I left the dirt tampos on as well.

Here it is hard at work, bringing home a new project car!

Project: Matchbox Ferrari 308 GTB

Good afternoon! I wanted to share a quick Saturday afternoon project with you. I didn't actually do this one, but a good friend of mine did. He wanted to give customizing a shot so he picked out something from my workbench and had a go! He went with the Matchbox Ferrari 308 GTB casting. A solid choice. This one had seen better days but was a good restoration candidate.

After an afternoon of painting, here's how it sits now...

I think he did a heck of a job! Any comments would be much appreciated.

New Project: Lesney #55d Mercury Police Car

Good afternoon everyone! This one turned up at the workbench today on a trailer. It's in pretty sorry shape, it has definitely led a hard life as a police cruiser. But the wheels are good, windows are good, and the gumball on the top is even pretty good. This will be a pretty straightforward redo, I should have it finished by tomorrow. I already have the decals and everything!
