Hot Wheels Renault Sport RS01 Custom Repaint

This Renault Sport RS01 is a super cool casting, that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. The real thing is a car that Renault created specially for a new racing series it has developed, called the Renaultsport Trophy series. They originally developed the car to replace the Megane Trophy in the GT3 class, but it was too fast!!

It's an all carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, with a modified 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 borrowed from the Nissan GT-R putting out over 500 horsepower! And the thing only weighs around 1,100 kilograms... Wow!!!

The version I made is something of a "test car", and it looks very menacing in flat black!

Matchbox Peugeot 205 Turbo Custom

Hey guys! We are back from a little diecast break. I recently bought a parts car for my Volvo, so I've been spending most of my free time in the garage playing with big toys haha.

But I'm back and have tackled a lovely little French hot hatch from Peugeot. I have loved the 205 since I was a kid, and have wanted to customize one for ages! This casting is a bit hard to come by in the states, but I happened across one in a cheap ebay junk lot.

Getting stripped down ready for paint, and some new wheels and tires

I'm thrilled with how it came out! Not perfect (as so few of my projects are), but pretty darn nice,

Classic Custom: BMW 2002 by Hot Wheels

Good evening folks! It is raining cats and dogs here tonight, and I've been cooped up in bed with a cold today. I got bored of alternating between chicken noodle soup and studying for a test tomorrow, so I decided to play around with some customs. All my restoration projects are waiting for the rain to stop, so I decided to revisit this BMW.

The 2002 is one of my all time favorites. (Doesn't necessarily mean much, I have lots of those haha) I came within an inch of having one for my first car. I will own one someday. They're just so cool.

I painted this one a while back, but was never happy with the wheels that were on it. I think they belong on a "stanced" MkIII Golf, not a classic BMW. So a Renault Master Ambulance that I stockpiled when they were readily available gave up its wheels, and I think they suit the car perfectly. I might go back and do some more detail painting later, but I'm happy with it for now!

Here's what I started with.

And here it is now!

In retrospect, maybe the tan interior doesn't look as good as black or gray, but the car it JB Welded back up so too late now! What do you all think?

Frenchies! New additions from Renault

I bought these not long ago off of Craigslist. A guy had a massive collection of loose cars, all sorts of varieties. As many as you wanted, 3 for $1. Needless to say, I pretty much cleaned him out haha. I took home well above 100 cars. The Lesney 56a Trolleybus I recently restored came from this collection.

These are some of the more interesting pieces I picked up. From a French brand called Norev, they're quite uncommon in the States. I wonder how they ended up in Tennessee? Here's what I got...

Renault Kangoo

Renault Megane Estate

Renault Master Flatbed

Renault Master Van

They're very high quality, and they make lots of interesting subject matter. Having spent time overseas, I am pretty familiar with the cars we don't get here in the States. Norev pretty much covers all the French brands. Here's a link to their catalog: http://www.norev.com/catalogue.pdf

I think the next trip I make to the UK this summer, I'll be shopping for some more of these!
