Chevy Camaro Z28 Police - Model of the Day

Today's Model of the Day is a 4th generation Camaro police car, from the wonderful old Matchbox Premiere series. The 1999 Premiere Police Collection, to be exact. While there were many great cars from the long-running Premiere line, the police cars always stood out to me. The Camaro was included in all the police series I believe. Other models included the old Ford LTD police car, the Crown Victoria, and the Chevy Tahoe. I only have a handful of these, but am alway on the lookout for more. 

I found this picture online. Looks like Matchbox did a fairly decent job of replicating the Wyoming Highway Patrol livery on the Camaro. Those Premiere-specific wheels don't look good on everything, but I think they suit the Camaro pretty well. 

Matchbox Ford Crown Victoria Police Restoration/Custom

I've been wanting to do one of these for a long time, take a police car and turn it into something "civilian." I got this Crown Vic in a big lot a while back and thought it would be perfect. As you can see, it was pretty rough when I got it:

So, after some body filler applied to the roof and a fresh coat of paint, here it is now! Not too bad for my first use of body filler, I'm looking forward to making similar cars in the future and making them look even better!

Project Wrap Up: Lesney #55d Mercury Police Car

Well, this one isn't my best work, but it'll display well. I'm probably just being too OCD anyways. I think the sticker on the hood is crooked LOL. Anyways, this car was pretty far gone and I'm glad to give it a new lease on life!

I painted the hubs black for two reasons. One, I thought it looked better that way, and two, I wasn't sure how to go about re-chroming the plastic hubs! Any tips would be much appreciated.

Matchbox Ambassador's Report February 3rd

Good morning everyone. Sorry for the lack of posts the last couple days. I've been slammed with school and the weather has been too bad for painting!
