Matchbox Cadillac CTS Wagon Custom

It's been a little while since I've been at the workbench! Been having too much fun working on my 1:1 scale toy.
But this Cadillac is a great casting, and I've been meaning to customize one for a while now! I went for the murdered-out look, and was cautious with the chrome. I think it came out looking pretty sweet.

Mailbox Finds - April 4th 2015

This Lesney lot arrived from ebay-land today. A bit lot of beaters and a few very nice pieces too! Price was about $17 shipped, which I think is a pretty good deal. Here's the beaters.. You'll be seeing quite a few of these again soon! I've got 4 or 5 already taken apart and in the paint stripper..

I think $17 would be worth it for the 4 nice cars, so the beaters are a bonus! They absolutely reek of cigarette smoke unfortunately, but I'm still happy with my little lot. 

Mailbox Find - Nice lot of Lesneys

Got a nice little box of Lesneys in the mail today, from a facebook group. 

And funny enough, this last piece was a freebie that the guy threw in for free basically, and I think it has turned out to be the best car in the lot, far and away. I'm pretty convinced that it's the rare "blue-green" Berlinetta. The lightning in the pics isn't the best, I know.. But anybody have opinions? The colors are quite different in person.

Treasure from England Part 1: Lesney Matchbox

Sorry for the long delay in posting anything. I've been in England for almost a month visiting my lovely girlfriend. Certainly no time for any customs! But I did do quite a bit of shopping for diecast, and came back with some wonderful treasures. I'm rested up now, and have begun going through everything, and documenting them with photos.

First up is the Lesney Matchbox, which I'm sure you know is my favorite thing to collect. We hit up several big antique malls, as well as a small toy and train show, and I came back with loads of stuff. Enjoy the pictures!

Hot Wheels 1935 Cadillac Restoration

Project #2 for the evening is a lovely classic Cadillac. This is a great casting that hasn't been seen in quite some time in the Hot Wheels lineup, and I think that needs to change! This was a fairly straightforward repaint and wheel swap. I don't know what the wheels are off of, they've been floating around in my toolbox for ages, and I thought this was the perfect application for them.
