Lesney Matchbox #46c Mercedes 300SE Chassis Swap

This is kind of an odd one that I've had sitting on a dusty corner of the work bench for quite some time now. I came across a strange listing for a mint condition green 300SE body and windows, minus the interior and chassis! Only 99 cents, so I bought it. The plan was to turn it into what you see here, a one of none transitional!
Only problem was, the gold super fast version isn't always the easiest model to find, and my parts supply didn't include a good condition chassis.. So I have waited almost a year to find a good donor car on eBay, and I finally got one! So here it is:

Matchbox Jaguar F Type Coupe Custom

Just a little repaint of a new release to share today. The F Type is my favorite car currently on sale, and I love the version that Matchbox came out with! They really nailed it. I decided to just do a quick repaint to match the one I got to drive at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance last year. What an experience that was!!

Here's the one I got to drive... What an experience!!

Matchbox Cadillac CTS Wagon Custom

It's been a little while since I've been at the workbench! Been having too much fun working on my 1:1 scale toy.
But this Cadillac is a great casting, and I've been meaning to customize one for a while now! I went for the murdered-out look, and was cautious with the chrome. I think it came out looking pretty sweet.

With some other Caddy's from the collection:

Hot Wheels 1970 Ford Escort RS1600 Custom

This Mk1 Escort is probably my favorite casting to come from the blue side of the toy aisle in a LONG time! They really nailed this one, and has been a flavor of the week amongst the HW Hoarders ever since it came out. I finally managed to score a couple of them this week, and immediately took one of them to the workbench.

I'm not a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, so the first order of business was to return this one to stock. Shame that the foglights cannot easily be removed, but it's a gorgeous casting. My stock of trusty Matchbox disc wheels at the ready, I got to work. It came out pretty nice. Here's hoping I find some more to customize soon!

Lesney #25d-Ford Cortina Chassis Swap

Good evening folks! I've been wanting to do this chassis swap for a long time, and finally got a nice-ish regular wheel version to perform the swap. Thinking of making a convertible out of the blue one too! I like having my own homemade versions of these hard to find variations. Tell me what you think below.

The chrome on the wheels is original, save for the left rear wheel, it literally had no chrome whatsoever. I think the not-so-minty look makes the car looks much more genuine.

Lesney #53b - Mercedes 220SE Coupe Restoration

Hello!!!! I bet you all thought I'd forgotten and abandoned this little blog. Nope, just been caught up in moving to another state and starting a new job! But I'm getting settled in now, and slowly unpacking my workbench and getting it set up again. And this Mercedes is the first product of new workshop. I forgot to take before pics (or just can't find them on my computer), but it was in a pretty sorry state. I like working on the older Lesneys like this, they look great sitting on the shelf afterwards.

For this one, I decided to go with a dark metallic blue, over light grey interior to complement the silver plastic wheels. It looks great!! Not as perfect as I would've liked, but it's ok.
