Hot Wheels Datsun Fairlady 2000 Custom

Got two to share this evening. I've been utilizing my day off to do some painting!! Lots more to come I now have about 25 cars painted and waiting for detailing haha. I'm hoping to get about that many more done to keep me busy over the winter when I can't paint :)

First is another Datsun, the recently released Hot Wheels Fairlady 2000 casting. I really like this one, and was anxious to see how it looked without any racing liveries, just clean. And I like the result!

Hot Wheels Datsun 620 Pickup Custom

I can't believe it's taken me until now to get an example of this casting up on the workbench! It's one of my favorites, I have every version released so far in my collection.

Nothing too crazy with this custom, just a repaint and a wheel swap. I think it came out pretty well!

Hot Wheels Toyota MR2 Repaint

I'm going to be moving again soon, so that means I need to finish up and post all the projects I have going right now before they get packed up! Starting with this Toyota MR2. Just a repaint, but I think it came out pretty nice.

Hot Wheels Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Custom Repaint

Still on a Japanese car kick! I was tired of seeing all these crazy paint jobs, so I'm taking some more popular Japanese HW castings and making them a bit more stock looking. I'm particularly pleased with how this Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X turned out!

Maisto Lexus IS300 Custom

Back at it again! Just a simple repaint and wheel swap to start things off. Got a lot of those Lesneys on the second shelf stripped and ready to go....

I'm a big fan of Maisto castings. What they sacrifice in interiors, they make up for with excellent casting detail and proportion. With some nicer wheels and a little detailing, they usually come out really nice. This little Lexus is no exception! Silly me forgot my red paint in the move, so no tail light details until I can find some haha.

Hot Wheels Acura NSX Repaints

Evening all. This new Acura NSX casting from Hot Wheels has struck a chord with me. I generally don't collect a lot of Japanese cars, but I just love the original NSX, and the boys in blue really did it proud. It even manages to somehow pull off its stupid big rear wheel stance.

So I decided to buy a bunch of them and go crazy with the paint! I am sure Hot Wheels will get around to releasing all these colors at some point, but making your own is much more fun! (Red was the original release) Enjoy the pictures.
