Lesney #48c - Dodge Dumper Truck Restoration

Well I'm not gone yet!! I'm hitting the road saturday, so I'm going to try and get one more done before then. Here's a Dodge dump truck I just finished up.

I didn't plan to make this one as a copy of the Scammel Slowplow, but I guess it worked out that way haha.

Lesney #16c - Scammell Snowplow

Here's an old Lesney slowplow that was missing its plow! I decided to just go with it, and not try to replace the plow. Other than the weird splotches that turned up on the bed, I'm happy with it. Might try to go back and spray some metallic silver on the bed or something, I wonder why that happened.

Foden Hoveringham Tipper - Model of the Day

Lesney #17d - Foden Hoveringham Tipper

This Lesney model was added to the 1-75 range in 1963. The livery was modeled after the Hoveringham Gravel Company from Northamptonshire. There was only this one main variation done, with the red body, orange tipper, and black plastic wheels. As with most all Lesneys of this era, there were quite a few small variations found, including a couple of different types of suspension, and various small changes in the casting itself. 

It's not an overly valuable model, but a nice one regardless!

Lesney #51c-AEC 8 Wheel Tipper Restoration

Got two new'uns today. They've been finished forever honestly, but I only recently got around to ordering decals, and those decals arrived today! So here's the first one, a #51c Tipper. Was pretty nasty starting out...

Construction vehicles like this are fun, because they tend to be pretty gross from years in the sandbox, but clean up real nice!

Lesney #26c-GMC Tipper Truck Restoration

Another one of my finds from across the pond, I think I gave 40p for it, which was probably too much in its original state! But I saw the potential..

Pretty gross huh? I hope you can see the cobwebs in the cab. Luckily whatever made them was not still residing there...

Anyways, I never really cared for the red and green that this model came in. I never understood why Matchbox felt the need to have a green chassis and green windows. So with it apart, I decided to change that!
