Lesney Matchbox #46c Mercedes 300SE Chassis Swap

This is kind of an odd one that I've had sitting on a dusty corner of the work bench for quite some time now. I came across a strange listing for a mint condition green 300SE body and windows, minus the interior and chassis! Only 99 cents, so I bought it. The plan was to turn it into what you see here, a one of none transitional!
Only problem was, the gold super fast version isn't always the easiest model to find, and my parts supply didn't include a good condition chassis.. So I have waited almost a year to find a good donor car on eBay, and I finally got one! So here it is:

Majorette Datsun 260Z Restoration

Got this little fella on eBay recently, and finally got around to redoing it. It came out pretty well I think!

Lesney #53c Ford Zodiac Chassis Swap Custom

Hello hello! It has been far too wet and humid to paint here recently, so I decided to do a little chassis swap on a pair of Ford Zodiacs. I took two pretty common models, and created two pretty rare ones! They definitely look good enough to sit on the shelf and fill a hole in my collection on the cheap!

Matchbox Saab Sonett III Restoration

Decided to make myself a copy of a rare variation! This Saab Sonett is a cool little casting, and as everybody knows, I do love my Swedish cars! Wasn't in bad condition really, but I got in a project car lot so I decided to go for it!

Maisto Lexus IS300 Custom

Back at it again! Just a simple repaint and wheel swap to start things off. Got a lot of those Lesneys on the second shelf stripped and ready to go....

I'm a big fan of Maisto castings. What they sacrifice in interiors, they make up for with excellent casting detail and proportion. With some nicer wheels and a little detailing, they usually come out really nice. This little Lexus is no exception! Silly me forgot my red paint in the move, so no tail light details until I can find some haha.

The workshop is up and running!!!

Well, I've moved again and am getting settled in my new place. Missouri this time! I don't have much of a workbench, but it's enough to get the projects rolling again!!

I'm waiting on payday this Friday to get a few much needed supplies, but I should have some new cars finished to post later this week!! Exciting stuff.

LOTS of recent finds!!

Hello everyone, long time no see! I wanted to apologize for the lack of posts lately, hopefully somebody out there has missed them! As I mentioned before, I'm still away for some job training, and will be moving somewhere to a new base within the next few weeks! So until I get settled in wherever that new place is, I still won't be able to do any customs or restorations. Don't worry though, I will be bringing my supplies with me when I move, and we'll be back to regularly scheduled programming soon!!

But for now, I have been adding to my collection regularly, and thought I'd share some of those photos. There are a lot.. So enjoy, and drop a comment with your favorite! Thanks for reading.
