Matchbox Vauxhall Astra GTE Restoration

Good afternoon everyone, today I want to share with you a custom that has taken me ages to finish. I kept having paint problems with it, had to strip and repaint it three times I believe.

I came across this poor old Vauxhall in the "local" junkyard, and thought it looked worth saving. So I loaded it up on my trailer and took it back to the workshop!

Here's what I found when I got it back to the workshop and had a closer look:

And after a few weeks, and a new paint job, interior, and wheels, here she is!

Lesney #38b-Vauxhall Victor Estate Restoration

Finished one up tonight, a 38b Vauxhall Victor Estate. This is a very nice little casting that I definitely need some more of! This particular one was in pretty bad nick when I got it. Looks like it had several "custom" paintjobs over the years haha.

But I decided not to go crazy on the resto, just put it back to stock. I don't have an original to compare to, but I think the shade of yellow I have is fairly close to original. I actually broke the window during disassembly, but luckily it cracked on the roofline, so I was able to put it back in without being noticeable.

Lesney #45a-Vauxhall Victor Restoration

Another one of my buys from England, I gave this one a new lease on life! It was in pretty rough shape before, take a look at this:

Even though the body was pretty rough, the chassis was very nice, so I didn't even take the wheels off or repaint it. Just a little touchup on the trailer hitch and it was good to go! Here's how this little Victor finished up. 

Lesney #22b-Vauxhall Cresta Restoration

One of the cars I procured on my trip to England! It was pretty rough, but it's back to life now, in what I think is a pretty sharp color. Sorry for the shadowy pics, my lighting is a bit messed up at the moment.
